“Images of India” Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January 2008 at Cocoon Dayspa, #8 Main Road (Hope Farm) Whitefield, Bangalore. from 10.30 to 6.00 pm “I will be returning to Bangalore in January 2008 to host another exhibition continuing the theme of Indian Women. The title of the show is “Images of India” in which I will present paintings of women from
different parts of India; Hampi, Rajasthan, and Bangalore. Due to time constraints and a hundred other events, especially my hip operation earlier this year, and our move back to Ireland, my painting output has been somewhat Sparse. However, I do believe in following through, so, small as it is, the show must go on and will consist of about 15 paintings. The painting technique is similar to the work in “Expressions” where I have
used a combination of collage and mixed media techniques with the watercolour. I feel that it really accentuates the wonderful textures of the walls in the old villages. The veiled faces of the women continue to intrigue me and of course the colourful sarees provide an irresistible excuse to use loads of colour. I will also be using my time in India to explore a new region, this time
Pondicherry, where I will spend a few days with my camera and sketch book, soaking in the uniqueness of this special place. On 28th January I will be returning to my newly built studio in Ireland where I plan to get into full swing with new paintings, fresh ideas, and possibly a few painting classes too. Please contact me anytime if you are
interested in commissioning any paintings, as my work will be on sale through the internet. I can be contacted on (+91) 9980 413603 while in India between the 12th and 27th of January, and information and Invitations are also available from Michelle at Cocoon dayspa in Whitefield.
