“Made in India” November 2001, Solo Exhibition (full press release) “Ireland has a name for being a watercolour country, and my previous work has reflected this in my misty, ethereal landscapes and flower paintings. Coming to India has been a real challenge for me. However, I have always had a passion for painting sunflowers, and it is this fieriness that has how found expression in my
work. Since coming to India, I feel I have the freedom to break the “old rules” of my previous watercolour training. My palette is now exploding with colour and texture and I have a more stylised approach to my subject”. |
